Generation: 2
  1. Wladyslaw (Walter) John LISEK b. 15 Nov 1893, Rovno , , Poland; d. Oct 1942, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA.

    Notes:
    BIRTH:
Year of birth calculated from his age (as listed on marriage license) of 25 in 1917 giving year as 1892, however, the gravestone shows year as 1894. My assumption is that the license would be more accurate since Walter would have provided the information. Even better is the WWII draft record where he provided his birth as Oct 15, 1893.

    OCCUPATION:
House painter and did odd jobs.

    IMMIGRATION:
There is a Wladyslaw Lisek in a Port of NYC manifest for the Kronprinz Frederich Wilhelm (port of departure -- Bremen, Germany) on Jun 1, 1909. His destination was Buffalo, NY. His last residence was Rezyca. His father's name was Augustyn Lisek. Until there is some verification found for Walter's year of birth, there's no way to be sure this is his immigration record.
Note (12 Jul 2003) - Walter's father's name was listed as Felix on his marriage license, so the above mentioned Wladyslaw is probably NOT Walter.

    IMMIGRATION:
(added 23 Mar 2003) The 1930 census has 1912 as the year that Walter arrived in this country, so the above information is additional confirmation that this was another Wladyslaw.

    NATURALIZATION:
    Yes

    CENSUS:
    1920 - ED 280, Sheet 10B, Ward 14, Lines 93-95 (name appears as SISEK)
    1930 - ED 18-491, Sheet 15B, Ward 28, Lines 97-100 (indexed on Ancestry.com as LISCH)

    1920 - bought property on E. 49th St.

  3. Karolina OSINSKI b. 15 Aug 1891, , , , Poland; d. May 1957, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA.

    Notes:
    IMMIGRATION:
    1912 (per 1930 census)

Supposedly, Karolina Osinski was a distant cousin of the Myczkowski family. If so, it would have to mean that she was from the same area of Poland (Przymysl), but John Zabka told me that Karoline's side of the family was Russian just like the Trzeciak's. Przymysl was right on the border of Poland and Russia.

  4. Jan OSINSKI b. Poland.

    Notes:
In Poland it is spelled Osinski, the (si) has the sound of (sh). Polish Catholics here in the United States have kept the Osinski spelling and some have placed an (h) after the "s" to maintain it's proper pronunciation and their pride in being Poles. Osin in Polish means Aspen (tree).
