A copy can be found in the Milan Public Library in Milan, Ohio. This article specifically names his parents as Joseph and Abigail Fish.

Generation: 4
  1. Joseph FISH b. 3 Apr 1752, Norwich, New London Co., Connecticut; d. 1805, New York or Connecticut.

    Notes:
Uriah's grandson, Albert, had a biography that named Uriah's parents as Joseph and Abigail Fish. The only Joseph and Abigail Fish found in the correct time frame married in Connecticut are Joseph Fish and Abigail Lothrop. This coupled with the following excerpt about another son, Joseph, taken from "History of the Fish Family" by Cynthia Fish Hunt is presented as incomplete but moderately sufficient proof that this couple is indeed the parents of Uriah Fish:

"Joseph Fish was the fourth son of Joseph and Abigail Lathrop Fish and was born in Montville, New London Co., Conn March 13, 1784. ... He went into Onondaga County, where the city of Syracuse now stands ... Eventually he went into the town of Otisco where his brother Uriah had located a farm ..."

See the notes under the son Joseph for a more complete quotation.

One internet source shows his death as: August 8, 1835 age 84 in Little Falls, Herkimer Cty, NY

The book "Early Connecticut Marriages Prior to 1800", 5th book edited by Rev Frederick W Bailey and published in 1902 lists Joseph Fish and Abigail Lothrop as having married in Bozrah, Connecticut on 7/4/1776. This is the Joseph Fish/Abigail marriage listed in any of this set of books.

  2. Joseph m. Abigail LOTHROP 4 Jul 1776, Bozrah, New London County, Connecticut. Abigail b. 24 Feb 1757, Norwich, New London Co., Connecticut; d. Aft 1805, New York or Connecticut. [Group Sheet]

  3. Abigail LOTHROP b. 24 Feb 1757, Norwich, New London Co., Connecticut; d. Aft 1805, New York or Connecticut.

    Notes:
An article about Albert M Fish, a great-grandson, can be found in "A Standard History of Erie County, Ohio", edited by Hewson L Peek and published in 1916. A copy can be found in the Milan Public Library in Milan, Ohio. This article mentions Joseph and Abigail. It is suspected her last name may have been Lothrop but no firm evidence exists at this time.

Certain sources indicate that Joseph and Abigail had at least 4 children, all sons, of which Uriah was in the 1st three.

Lo-Lathrop Family Memoir lists Abigail as #473 and says:
"ABIGAIL, born Feb. 24, 1757, and married Joseph Fish, and settled in Pittstown, N. Y."

    Children:
    1. 6. Uriah FISH b. 15 Aug 1780, Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut; d. 28 Apr 1863, Otisco, Onondaga Co., New York; bur. Amber Cemetery, Amber, Onondaga Co., New York.
    2. Joseph FISH b. 13 Mar 1784, Montville, New London Co., Connecticut; d. 3 Jun 1862, Ronald, Ionia Co., Michigan; bur. Norvell, Jackson County, Michigan ?.
