    THE DESCENDANTS OF EZEKIEL MAINE, by Algernon Aikin Aspinwall, 1905. His will was dated February 9, 1771, and probated September 6, 1771. He was for many years a Deacon in the Church at North Stonington CT, the town of Stonington having been divided into two parishes in 1727.
    He married, first, April 20, 1720 (before he was 20 years old), Ann Brown of Stonington. She was born February 1, 1699/1700, and died March 11, 1766. Just two months and three days afterwards, on May 14, 1766, he married, second, Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas and Persis (Cleveland) Hewitt. She was born April 12, 1709.

    They had the following children:
    + 154 M i Thomas MAIN Jr. was born 12 Feb 1721 and died before 12 Sep 1771.
    + 155 M ii Andrew MAIN was born 5 Aug 1723 and died 18 Apr 1802.
    + 156 M iii Timothy MAIN was born 8 Apr 1727 and died about 1790.
    + 157 M iv Joshua MAIN was born 1 Apr 1729 and died 1809.
    + 158 F v Anne MAIN was born 31 Jul 1733 and died 24 Dec 1822.

    33. Anne-4 Pendleton (Caleb-3), was baptized 22 August 1703, at theFirst Church, Stonington, Conn. She married at Westerly, RI, 21 May 1724,Samuel Babcock, son of Capt. james and Elizabeth Babcock. He was born atWesterly, RI, 15 FEb 1797, and died there in 1772.
    On the 22d July 1747, Samuel Babcock gave receipt to Benoni Smithfor the legacies in the will of his father-in-law, Caleb Pendleton, made"To my wife Anne, son Nathan, daughter Elizabeth, and daughter Anne"(West. C & P Rec., iii, 329). His won will, dated 13 Mar 1768, names wifeAnna, sons Nathan and Samuel, Jr., daughter Thankful Babcock, andgrandchildren, Joseph Smith, William Smith and Joshua Smith (West.
