    Luke Cheney, a farmer, came to America about 1845 stopping in Avon, Lorain Co., OH. He married Elizabeth Fretter. He later went to Michigan, but returned to Avon for a short time. He then went to Rice Co., MN where he acquired a 720 acre farm near Dundas, MN.

    DEATH: Died from a fall on the ice.

    John's marriage information says that his mother's name was FRANCIS HADNITT. Birth date may have been Sept 21, 1821. He and his family came to America in 1852. He was a laborer. Brothers Eli, Luke, Reuben and John stayed in Ohio for several years.

    John died of pneumonia.
