BIOGRAPHY: Dea. Alexander, the eldsest son of Alexander and Johannah Smith McLean was b. in N. Bolton, attended school in S. Bolton and Windsor. With the exception of one winter when he taught school, aided his father upon the farm until his marriage in 1793, at the age of 21. He conducted a farm in Vernon for a number of years. Afterward, he and his brother, Col. FrnacisMcLean, built and carried on the cotton mills at the village now called Talcottville.
