NANETTE M. ROZHON

Nanette M. Rozhon, 52, a fan of nature and wildlife, died of cancer Wednesday at her home in North Riverside. At a hunter's decoy show in the early 1980s, Mrs. Rozhon fell in love with the art of creating animals out of wood, except not for hunting. "She'd take a block of wood and just carve it down into songbirds and ducks," her daughter, Sherri Rozhon, said. "She really loved miniatures, especially." In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Rozhon is survived by her mother, Rose Rozhon; a son, Hank; a brother, Joseph Breseman; a sister, JoAnne Roberts; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kuratko Funeral Home, 2500 S. Des Plaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Harold H Rozhon died in March 2002. Born September 24, 1913, Harold H Rozhon was 88 years old. The last known place of residence for Harold H Rozhon was Ormond Beach, FL.

Rose's name is mentioned in her daughter, Nanette's, obituary as Rose Rozhon, however, Nanette's surname is also shown as Rozhon AND she's listed as a Mrs. and her brother's surname is Breseman. These clues lead me to believe that her mother first married a Breseman and then married a Rozhon, also that Nanette also married a Rozhon (probably from different families). Very confusing!

HOMOSASSA - Rose Breseman Mele, 93, a former supervisor in a plastics factory, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, in Crystal River. A native of Forest Park, Ill., she moved to Homosassa in 1999. She was an avid bingo player and an excellent cook. Survivors include her son, Joseph D. Breseman, Homosassa; daughter, Joann Roberts, Avon Park; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Although Henry lists his place of birth as Cleveland, Ohio on his World War II draft registration card, this seems unlikely since his father and mother arrived in the USA with him and several of his siblings in 1887 and he was born in 1882.

Henry I. Rozhon, devoted husband of Johanna K., nee Berghaus; beloved father of Harold H., Marion L. Drollinger, Irene H. Hughes, the late Raymond, and Robert Rozhon; grandfather of seven; great-grandfather of three; brother of Mary Hlavka. Resting at Zimmerman & Son Chapel, 7319 Madison street, Forest Park, until 11 a.m. Thursday. Service 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran church. Interment Immanuel Lutheran cemetery, 22d and Wolf road. The 1920 Census shows a brother-in-law living with the family. Only his surname is given. I think it's safe to assume that Berghaus is Johanna's maiden name if her brother is living with her.
