If you've explored this site at all lately, you'll have noticed that there's a new guestbook. The old one was okay, but I like the look of the new one a lot better.

Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin with all these family trees, so I added several 'quick links' on the main page to help people see the overall picture of a family structure.

In some cases, the lines go even farther back, (like the Brainard/Foster/Fish lines) but for now I chose to start the descendancy trees at the point where the families migrated to Cleveland.

Early Days of the Pioneers

The most recent addition to this site is a .pdf copy of Ebenezer Foster's book, Early Days of the Pioneers -- Cuyahoga County and Brooklyn Township. (the Fosters and the Fish'es)

Written between 1880 and 1885, Ebenezer's account of his family's history makes for interesting reading. This version now includes an index and some helpful footnotes to help clarify some ambiguous areas.

Next new project

Very soon now, a database will be available where grave transcriptions for various Cleveland cemeteries can be searched. You'll even be able to add in your own enteries. Stay tuned for the announcement. The primary objective is to record grave locations for Cleveland's Polish citizens, though other nationalities may be added, as well.

What a thrill ride this week has been!

While setting up the site with the new software, I've been getting e-mail from distant relatives (and non-related interested parties) practically every day.

It's great being able to share information. I am most appreciative of those of you who have submitted data and also sent me old family photos.

The site can become a clearing house for every family branch.
