15910 This family is included in the database because Anthony Czacherski lived with them in 1930 and was listed as a "step-father-in-law". At this time, I am unsure of how this relationship fits into the family but wanted to make note of the information in case it becomes important sometime in the future when other facts surface.

15918 ~Name originally listed here as Juchwinski. I'm not sure where I got that spelling -- possibly from his daughter's (Anna) death certificate?

~CORRESPONDENCE: LINDA KADIS
Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 2:58:55 PM
Proposed Change: Jacob JUCHWINSKI, (Juchnowski) (I10067)
Tree: Barbarowa Neighborhood

...
I would like to suggest the correct name for Juchwinski.
...
Juchwinski is not the correct surname:
...
The correct spelling is: JUCHNOWSKI
...
My surname is JUCHNOWSKI and I was raised in the home that Jacob Juchnowski and Emilia Kaczynski built on 6708 Chambers Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.
...
Also, the maiden name for Maryanne Cendrowski. This may or may not be the correct name for Michael Juchnowski wife. I have the family bible showing Cetnerski, and there are some family death certificates that show Cetnerski or closely spelled.
...
If you have any questions I will be glad to answer.
...
Regards, Linda Kadis (nee Juchnowski)
Michael JUCHNOWSKI

15937 Died after a fall while going to babysit for another family. Daughter, Anna, was taken care of by maternal aunt and uncle in Klaipeda, Lithuania. Anna later came to U.S. at approximately age of 10.
**Note added 19 APR 2002: Anna Batulewich told me that this story isn't true -- that Karolinka died in childbirth. Ona was an only child. If this is the case, then her date of death can be included as Jul 1897.**

Jus̆kevicius, if they were Polish, they'd be Juszkiewicz. It is from the name element "Jus-" and is a patronymic name from a father or descendant whose given name was Joszef. Joszef is the Polish form of Joseph. Joseph originated among a group of Semitic people inhabiting ancient Palestine and means, "the Lord added". It is a popular surname in Lithuania with 397 families living there in 1985.

The -ewicz/-owicz patronymic suffix, meaning literally "son of," cognate with the Russian
-ovitch. In the modern Lithuanian orthography, it appears as -evic^ius or
-avic^ius, hachek accent on the C.

15943 ~OBIT:
Possible obituary:
Name: Kaczmarrk, Jan
Date: 1916
Source: Cemetery record; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #043.
Notes: 1874-1916. Calvary Cemetery Cleveland, O.

~No other useful obituary was found that might show his wife's name.

~1920 census has a John Kaczmarik (age 29), Katherine (age 29), and Adella (age 1-1/2). He is a grocer. Arrived in U.S. in 1912. His partner, Alex Lysiak, is living in the same house at 2515 West 10th. This John and the one in the obituary above can't be the same fellows, since the one in the 1920 census was still alive past 1916.

~The John (or Jan), that is the father of John Jr., is NOT the husband of Eva (there is a marriage record for a John and Eva but the obituary for the husband in this couple does not list a son named John -- therefore, there is no John Jr.)
