(13) "Colonel George Woodbury BUNNELL lived intensely. His life right up to the days of his last illness was a continuing drive the better and the quicker to accomplish whatever his activity of the moment might be. ... he worked with an intensity of purpose that brooked no delay, shirking of responsibility, and for himself utter disregard of time clock or of social activities that might interfere. And woe betide a subordinate who loafed on the job, or who erred through incompetence or lack of diligence. He was a demanding taks-master, but an extremely fair one. Nor did he hesitate to admit his own error when he made one." He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. "There was nothing he wouldn't do, no length to which he would not go, to help the man to whom he had extended the hand of friendship."

Information shown above for Alex / Carl may not be Konstantine's brother. Proceed with caution with this information. However, Helen Myczkowski Wanicki, step-daughter of Konstantine Burak, told about visits to his aunt who lived around E.142nd Street and also about visits to his brother's house. She specifically named his brother's children as being named Kostik and Sofie. Based on that info, it would appear that the info above may indeed be for Konstantine's brother. | Alex or Carl BURAK

BIRTH:
WWII draft card has birth as 18 Dec 1890, not 1891.
Konstantine said that back in Russia he had a stepmother, whom he hated. One day she hit Konstantine's brother which made Konstantine mad so he pushed or threw her down the steps.
Konstantine was a good friend of Frank Myczkowski, so when Frank died and left Margaret a widow with three children, she married Konstantine so her children would have a father and provider. Unfortunately, he was quite a drinker. He had a metal plate in his head as the result of being beaten with a club by the cops (he was drunk). This beating happened before he married Margaret.
MARRIAGE:
Listed in Cuyahoga County Probate Court Marriage Index as Bride--Myczkowska, Magga H. and Groom--Borak, Kostanty. Borak is exactly how it appears. V.152, Pg 207. The middle initial (H) is probably for her maiden name, Horwat, as Myczkowska would be her name as a widow.
