1. Moved to the Joseph, Oregon area in the early 1900's andmoved to Rochester, WA around 1935.
2. Was a farmer most of his life, also did carpentery work.
3. Information that was shared by Frank and Vernon Daggettwith Elaine (Daggett) Entermille: Eddie and Leonora lived in Enterprise, Oregon for at least a short time because at least 3 of Vernon's sons were born in their grandparents home in Enterprise. Also in the obit for Leonora's father itsays she was living in Enterprise, Ore. when he died.
4. There is a report that says they were married in Biggsville, Warren County, ILL., but another comes from Henderson County, ILL, book C page 96.

3. After husband number 3 she was with a man, Roy,who was very good to her and after he died she appeared to give up the will togo on. Roy and Florence were together for years but never married.
4. She died while living in at Whispering Pines Nursing Home on Hazel Dell Ave. in Vancouver, WA.
5. Her parents moved the family to Rochester, WA about 1933.
6.She enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling, going to the senior center and making homemade rootbeer.

1. Simeon Taylor enlisted in Company F, Sixteenth ILL, March22, 1864 serving to the close of the War.
2. Simeon and Nancy lived in Henderson County, ILL. from the time they were married until 1873/74 when they movedto Adams County, IA. They lived for a season at Mt. Etna and then moved to afarm northwest of Prescott, known as the Wes James place.
3. He raised truckproduce to sell and also kept bees and sold the honey. In watermelon time, hewould gather in a wagon load of watermelons and put them in a cool spring. Some of the melons were very large. One summer water was scarce and a drove of cattle were driven to this spring. When they got a smell of the water they were so thristy they stampeded. It was only quick work that rescued Olive from the cattle.
4. When they moved to Prescott, Simeon ran the flour mill for awhile. One year after the oat crop was harvested on the M.T. Bross farm, buckwheatwas sown, which when ripened, was milled into pancake flour by the Daggetts. Simeon built a house in Prescott and they moved there. He earned a living by doing custom rugweaving.
5. He was bothered by asthma and made a trip to the Blue Mountains of northwest Oregon near Joseph. He found he could breath easierthere, so in 1906 he moved the family there by traveling in an immigrant car.Inclued in this car was some hives of bees, which proved to be the first hivesin the local area. Before that no clover or alfalfa were raised there. Grace,Beecher and Rae were still living at home when the move took place. Walter and Eddie moved their families to Joseph, Oregon the same time Simeon moved. Thenext fall, 1907, after the corn harvest Ebbin and George moved their familiesto Joseph also. In 1910 Scott moved his family to Joseph. Ellis, Clara and Olive remained in Iowa except for visits to see their parents. Simeon bought theMahon ranch on Alder Slope. They raised a large garden, kept bees and, with his sons, trapped fur bearing animals. In 1914 they moved to Joseph where theybuilt a new home with the aid of their sons, who were carpenters. Many of thelarger homes in the valley were built by the Daggett brothers.
6. Simeon was known for his beautiful flowers and garden.
7. He retired with a Civil War pension.
8. Simeon and Nancy are buried at the Prairie Creek Cemetery, east of Joseph, Oregon.
