    • Will of John [BO:Hynckleye:BO], of Haryetsham in the county of
      Kent and Diocese of Canterbury, 5 May 1577:
      [IT:My body to be buried in the churchyard of Haryetsham. To the
      poor. To the reparation of the church of Haryetsham 3s.4d. To
      Alyce[BO: Fekyns:BO] wife of John [BO:Fekys:BO], 12d. To godson Henrye
      Hynckleye 12d. To Katheryne [BO:Lytlehare:BO], my daughters daughter.
      To my wife, Avysse, two bushels of wheat lying amoung the wheat of my
      son Robert [BO:Hyncklye:BO]. All my goods and cattle to my wife Avysse
      and daughter Annys, and to the latter certain pewter household goods
      [specified] and at the age of twenty-one 10£, to be paid by my son
      Robert. For default of payment, daughter Annys to enter into my chief
      messuage at Haryetsham, wherein Robert, my son, now dwelleth, and
      lands thereto belonging until the sum is paid. If Annys die before her
      said age, my wife to have 5£, and Henry [BO:Hyncklye:BO] and John
      [BO:Hyncklye:BO], sons of my son John [BO:Hyncklye:BO] all have 20s
      each. To Thomas [BO:Hyncklye:BO], son of Robert [BO:Hyncklye:BO], my
      son. The residue of all goods and cattle bequeathed now in the
      occupation of Robert [BO:Hyncklye:BO], I give to him and make him
      executor. Henrye [BO:Smoothgyne:BO] and Robert [BO:Wyllmott:BO] to be
      my overseers.
      My last will regarding all my lands and tenements in Haryetsham
      or elsewhere in the county of Kent. My tenement Steden strete, wherein
      I now dwell, with a barn and certain lands adjoining called Stylles
      feylds, containing six acres, and two other pieces of land, called
      Newman and chawke lande in Haryetsham, to wife Avysse and her heirs
      for the term of thirteen years after my decease, if she live so long,
      paying the lords rent, and 26s.8d. a year to John Hynckleye, my son,
      to whom I leave the said property after my wife's decease or at the
      end of the said thirteen years, at his death to revert to his son
      Henry [BO:Hynckleye:BO], and his heirs male, and for want of such to
      the heirs male of my son John, and for want of such to Robert my son
      and his heirs male and for want of such to the right hers of my son
      John. Son robert to have use of the ponds on said land to draw water.
      Said John 13s.4d. out of my messuage and lands now in the occupation
      of son Robert for seven years and a half after my decease [with
      penalty for non-payment]. Wheras I have reserved unto myself one Loft
      chamber in the house where my son Robert now dwelleth with free
      ingress and egress, Avysse my wife shall have the same for one year
      after my decease. To son Robert [BO:Hynckleye:BO] for life my messuage
      where he now dwelleth with all the house and buildings thereto
      belonging and all the rest of my lands, tenements and hereditaments in
      the parish of Haryetsham or elsewhere in the county of Kent, and after
      his decease, I wil them to his sons Isaacke and Thomas
      [BO:Hynckleye:BO] and their heris male, and for want of such the next
      heirs male of son Robert and for want of such to Annys my daughter and
      her lawful issue, anf for wnat of such the right heirs of son Robert.
      "Whereas by my suffycyent deed sealed with my seale" I have given to
      my wife Avysse and annuity of 6s.8d., it shall be paid out of the land
      given to son Robert. If any of my sons shall break the entail of my
      property, or any legatee contest my will, the legacy of such person to
