  Obituary from the Elkhart Truth of 9/9/1929: Bert Harold Fish, 54, dies at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home, 227 Aspenwald Avenue. Although he had been ailing for the past year, he continued his work at the J. C. Waterson Machine Co. until he became bedfast two weeks ago. The funeral will be held Tuesday, with a service at the home at 3:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. F W Lineberry of the Methodist Protestant church, and burial at Rice Cemetery. Mr. Fish was born Nov 1, 1874 at Berlin Heights, Ohio and lived at Three River, Mich., 25 years before coming to Elkhart at the time of his marriage, Sept 8, 1914, to Miss Orpha E Young of this city. He was a traveling salesman of the Marshall (Mich) Furnace Co., a position he filled for a number of years before taking employment with the Waterson Company. Surviving Mr. Fish are his wife and three children--John Harold, James Leroy and Phyllis Maxine Fish, all at the parental home. His 1st marriage license application lists his bride as "Maggie Henrickson", his father as "Myndrett M Fish" and his mother as "Susie Moore".
