      18-4 1868 George obtained his first license. 1868+ He shipped on the Argosy, the Abner O'Neil(1877), the C. W. Bachelor, the J.. M. McCulloch, and the Express.
      1940 George had a niece, Lillian Poe Wagner, who kept his house but died years before 197_.
      42-4 George W. Poe was a pilot on many boats: Among them were the H. K. Bedford, Messenger, Scotia, Mollie Ebert, and the C. W. Bachelor.
