1 NAME Elizabeth /Hipner/
SOURCES:
50-11 Has Elizabeth's maiden name spelled HEPHNERHipner and Hapfener spellings also found.
She was one of 13 children. One was her twin sister Maria Barbara Hephner. One brother was
probably Michael. Her parents and siblings moved to Allegheny Co in 1786. She was baptised by a traveling Rev. Johann Wilhelm Weber of the German Reformed Congregations on Sep 24, 1786.
Year of birth also listed as 1785.
According to the German Church records of Westmorland Cty. Penn., 1772-1791, Vol 1 & 2, Elizabetha Hapfener was born on April 8, 1786 and baptised on September 24, 1786 by Rev. Johann Wilhelm Weber of the German Reformed Congregations. He traveled through the surrounding counties of Pa. and thus it is assumed he may have baptised her in Allegheny County since the family is known to have moved there in 1786. Her parents were listed as Jacob Hapfener and Maria Dorthea. A Michael Schumacher witnessed the baptism. It is presumed that this is Dorthea's brother and she is the twin sister of Maria Barbara Hephner.
