1863 06 Mar Francis' father, Isaac Poe, died while in service for the Union Army.
1864 24 Feb Enlisted as a Private.
1864 Mar Had measles while still at Camp Randall, Madison, WI.
1865 12 Jul Mustered out as a Private at Jeffersonville, IN. The War had ended.
40 1867 27 Jan Francis wrote a lettter to his mother from South Haven, MI, in which he said he now owned a team and a wagon.
29-3 1870 11 Jun Francis M. Poe married Josephine Brown in the Congregational Church at Lafayette, Medina County, Ohio.

40 1880 Francis lived in the State of Iowa.
29-3 1890 11 Jun Francis, disabled by diarrhea and rheumatism, applied for a disability pension. He was living at Medford, Jackson Co., OR. He was 46 and he was 5'91/2", had brown hair and blue eyes.
1890 22 Jul Francis filed a declaration alleging he had permanent disability from chronic diarrhea, lung trouble and rheumatism caused by measles while in the service.
1891 06 May His endorsement claims he had measles and a relapse from the measles while at Camp Randall in March of 1864. He also had lung and bowel trouble at that time. He was living
at Medford, OR, when he made the endorsement. His description was age 47, 5'8", 180#.
1891 21 Jul His application was approved, a disability pension because of chronic diarrhea and rheumatism, $8 per month commencing 22 Jul 1890.
1891 04 Dec A declaration was made by Francis - he was 47 and resided at Medford, Jackson Co., OR; Complexion was fair and his eyes were light blue. In March of 1864, he contracted measles and also diarrhea. In July of 1865, he contracted rheumatism from exposure at Camp Randall.

29-3 1894 13 Mar Declaration - Francis was 49 and lived in Medford, OR. He was 5'91/2, had a fair complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. he was drawing $8 per month. He was suffering from chronic diarrhea, catarrh of the head and throat, and the piles. He wished to increase his pension.
1897 16 Sep From a service records exerpt: Rolls show that Francis had been AWOL
from 4 May 1864 until 30 Jun 1864. The rolls on 31 Aug 1864 showed him still AWOL. He returned to his company from Wisconsin where he had been sick.
1897 06 Oct Statement that Francis still received $8 per month. He was age 52 and was 5'8", 173#.
1898 20 Jun Francis' pension was increased to $10 per month.
1899 22 Nov Francis Marion Poe died at Medford, Jackson, OR. He was almost 55 years of age.
