  1. Re: Adam birth place: 1880 census for son Daniel said father born PA. BIOGRAPHY: Adam Shaner was listed as locating in section sixteen of Rich Hill Twp. in 1807. Taken from "The History of Muskingum County", Published 1880 On the 16 Apr 1831 he purchased Lot 6, Section 13, Township 13, Range 12, from the State of Ohio, 81 30/100 acres of land in the Salt Reseve of Ohio. All fo his children were born in Muskingum Co., Ohio. He and his family moved to Homer Twp., Athens County about 1838. He bought on 18 Mar 1840 form the Land Office at Marietta, Ohio, recorded 30 May 1840, 160 Acres of Public Land located in the N. W. Quarter of Section 26, Township 7, Range 13 in Athens County, Ohio. His name spelled as Adam Sheaner, on the deed. The deed was signed by Andrew Jackson, President. At a later date, about 1845, the Township of Homer, was transferred from Athens County,, to Morgan County, Ohio. EMAIL FROM MERLIN EUGENE SHANER TO RANDY LEE EVERETTE, 30 JAN 2000 Adam and Henry migrated to Muskingum Co., OH (near Zanesville). Then Adam and Deborah moved to Athens Co., OH. Later the county changed name to Morgan Co., OH. Merlin Eugene Shaner's family is from this area.
