      Edward P. Chapman's early life was spent on the farm where he attende
      d the rural school for a few months each winter until he was 16 year
      s ofage, when he dropped out of school entirely. At the age of 21 h
      e again entered the rural school and after attending two winter term
      s of five months each,he obtained a Teacher's Certificate, and bega
      n the teaching profession, which he followed for thirty-five years.
      Edw. P. Chapman's teaching record is as follows:
      Rural schools of Shelby County 14 years
      Mathematics, Shelbyville High School 8 years
      Arith. And Principal, Shelbyville Main St. School 6 years
      Prin. Findlay Grades and High School 4 years
      Prin. Strasburg Grades and High School 1 year
      Asst. Co. Superintendent of School 2 years
      Total 32 years.
      On February 11, 1929, Ewd. P. Chapman entered St. John's Sanitarium a
      s a patient to be treated for Tuberculosis of the Lungs. He was her
      e as a patientfor five years, lacking just five days.
