Notes |
- BIOGRAPHY: Isaac Jennings, M. D., was born in Fairfield, Conn., and studiedmedicine. He practiced first in Derby, Conn., and in 1839 removed toOberlin, Ohio. After some years of practice, his views on medicineunderwent a change and he retired from the practice of the profession. The last twenty-five years of his life he devoted principally to writingand promulgating his views. He was the author of four books: "MedicalReform," "Philosophy of Human Life," "The Tree of Life," and"Orthopothy."Dr. Jennings was kind, genial and respected by all. He had great patienceand charity, never showing any sign of irritation or bitterness orfanaticism, as do some reformers whose opinions are not accepted at once. His death made a void in the hearts and homes of many whom his kindnesshad blessed.--See extracts in American Family Antiquity, p. 190.
