Ruetenik, one of the market gardners in the Schaaf Road district, died Feb. 24 in the Home for the Age in Upper Sandusky. He was buried in Cincinnati. Ninety-five years ago Mr. Ruetenik was born here. He was the son of Rev. Nathaniel and Elizabeth Tanner Ruetenik, who settled in old Brooklyn more than a century ago. A few years after the death of his wife, Mrs. Sophia Hanhart Ruetenik, in 1942, he entered the home for the aged at Upper Sandusky. Until a few years ago he had unofficial charge of the farm and gardens of that institution. For much of his life Mr. Ruetenik was a member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which his father was founder and for some years pastor. A brother, William, 85, residing in California, is his only surviving near relative.
