Notes |
- Founder of "Ruetenik Gardens" on Schaaf Road in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio.
OBIT:
Name: Ruetenik, Frank M.
Date: Mar 2 1954
Source: Source unknown; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #151.
Notes: Frank M. Ruetenik, one of the market gardners in the Schaaf Road district, died Feb. 24 in the Home for the Age in Upper Sandusky. He was buried in Cincinnati. Ninety-five years ago Mr. Ruetenik was born here. He was the son of Rev. Nathaniel and Elizabeth Tanner Ruetenik, who settled in old Brooklyn more than a century ago. A few years after the death of his wife, Mrs. Sophia Hanhart Ruetenik, in 1942, he entered the home for the aged at Upper Sandusky. Until a few years ago he had unofficial charge of the farm and gardens of that institution. For much of his life Mr. Ruetenik was a member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which his father was founder and for some years pastor. A brother, William, 85, residing in California, is his only surviving near relative.
