Our entire community was startled Monday to learn that Mr.Christopher Vincent was dead. On the day previous, about 2o'clock, he was at work onhis farm and was alone, when he fellhelpless to the ground, suffering from a severe stroke ofparalysis. He was discovered lying on the ground, by Mr.Marshall Coon, who was passing by with his team. He carried himto his home, when Drs.Post and Borden were immediately called. But neither their skill nor the tendercare of friends couldavail. The following evening, about midnight, he expired. Mr.Vincent was about 65 years of age, and had been an honoredresident of this town for many years, having come west about theyear 1840. For several years,he was assessor of the town ofMilton, and performed the duties of that exacting office to thegeneral satisfaction of our citizens. The funeral services werehels at 11 a. m. yesterday, at the Milton Junction S. D. B.Church, of which hewas a member. Mr. Vincent was a man of fewwords, but was the posssessor of a kind and generous nature, andwas universally respected by all who knew him.
Owned a farm in sections 9 & 10 of Milton Township, Rock Co.,Wisconsin in 1873.
