  • Notes
    • 1 NOTE He may be the Nathan TAYLOR who was in Norwich, NY in 1806.
He is no doubt the Nathan Taylor of New Berlin, Chemung Co., NYwho shows up on the Federal Census Records there from 1820-1830.
The following sons are most probably his:
Peleg TAYLOR, b bef 1800, d aft 1830 [New Berlin, NY Censusrecords]
OrrinTAYLOR, b bef 1800, d aft aft 1830 [New Berlin, NY Censusrecords]
Nathan TAYLOR, b aft 1810, d aft 1840 [New Berlin, NY Censusrecords].
He was listed with his mother who was less than 60 years old --evidently his father
      had died by that time.
He was mentioned in SMITH's "History of Chenango Co. [NY] (1880)as being "an
industrious farmer", a Justice of the Peace, and a Judge of theCourt of Common Pleas. He was the first postmaster in South NewBerlin, NY and held that position until 1830.
