    • 1 NOTE George was collecting a Revolutionary War pension in 1840. Hewas livingat Lincklaen, NY in the home of Joshua "Saunders" andwas 83 years old at the time. (Joshua Saunders was the husbandof his daughter, Mary.) George had appliedfor this pension on4/22/1818. Certificate #14747 (Act of 1818) was issued to him on9/6/1819. A letter from the Pension Department dated 7/6/1820stated that George was not entitled to a pension after allbecause he held some property. George reapplied on 6/21/1820 andon 2/15/1821 he requested that his application bereconsidered.In an affidavit dated 2/6/1821 George stated that he was ofBrookfiled, NY (Madison Co), age 64, and was disposed of hisproperty. His family at the time consisted of wife Lydia (51),son Elijah (14) and daughters Eliza (12) and Emeline (9).
