  HP022, 1st Hopkinton Cemetery 1 NOTE He was born in Westerly, RI on November 8, 1842 and at the ageof nineteen he enlisted in Company D, 4th Regiment, Rhode IslandVolunteers. He lost his right arm at the Battle of Petersburg,July 30, 1864 at the explosion of the mines. He married MaryElizabeth Covey on September 26, 1861. He served asRepresentative for Hopkinton in the RI General Assembly from1878 to 1884.
