Beloved husband of the late Mildred, nee Wilke; loving father of Barbara (Robert) Laken and Terry (Jessica) Pekny; grandfather of Diane (Rich) Doerr, Donna Laken (Russell Wolf), Beth (Bruce) Turek, Valerie Laken (Rodney Ranken), Marc (Jenny) Pekny and Doug (Lindsay) Pekny; great-grandfather of Amanda, Brandon, Christopher, Kaj, Alison, John, Grace, Jackson, Angela, Noelle and Joseph; brother of Gertrude (late Ed) David, Etta (Stanley) Ruzak and the late Barbara (late Charles) Moutvic, late Bernadette (late George) Rozhon, late Tom (late Helen) Pekny and late Henry Pekny. Visitation 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside. Prayers 10:45 a.m. Wednesday from funeral home to St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs for Mass at 11:15 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
