Notes |
- "THE DESCENDANTS OF EZEKIEL MAINE", by Algernon Aikin Aspinwall, pp 5.Jeremiah lived at Stonington CT where he died November 11, 1727. He married at Stonington, October 11, 1699, Mrs. Ruth Brown, a widow, much search has failed to disclose her maiden name or the name of her first husband. When the first Church was formed in what is now North Stonington, Jeremiah Maine and his wife Ruth were among the first members. In his will dated February 24, 1726, Jeremiah names his three youngest sons, Nathaniel, John and Peter; his three eldest daughters not named, he names his youngest daughter, Hepzibah, and names his wife, Ruth as sole executor. He also gives five shillings to Ruth, wife of John Butler. She was Ruth Brown, daughter, of his wife by her first marriage.
