- ~CORRESPONDENCE: azsunhog@bwmail.us" "...even though I was born on Granby Ave. in Old Brooklyn and didnt live on Redman I feel like I did since it was always such a big part of my life...I remember on my first communion from OLGC we had a party at our house and everyone got in the cars and drove over to Redman...my parents wanted everyone to see what it looked like for one last time - they were in the midst of starting the demolition of the area...I think Mom and Dad felt like a huge part of their lives were being swept away...my Mom and Dad were both born in a block house at the bottom of the hill-they were actually both born in the same building-both of my sets of grandparents at one time rented apts. in the same place...isnt that ironic that they would grow up and marry? When they were demolishing the block house my Dad went over there and picked up one of the cement "blocks" and brought it back over to the Granby ave. house and used it for a base when they set the Blessed Mother statue in front of the house...as far as I know it is still there."
"me and my sister Diane do not speak to our 4 siblings, partially for this very reason....when my Mom was very ill my brother Stanley "raided" my parents cedar chest that was overflowing with all our family belongings, ie old pictures, baby shoes, etc. etc.....and then my Mom past away in 1997 and as my Dad got older and became sicker and sicker my sister Barbara then finished off "helping herself" to the remaining pictures in the cedar chest....after Dad died in 2005 me and Diane opened the cedar chest and were just shocked at how empty it was - we both remember growing up and having to literally SIT on the lid to close the chest...its sad that they took it upon themselves to do this and not use modern technology to copy pictures so we could all have them to share with our kids and grandkids and generations to come. Anyways, I do have an old photo album of my parents with about half the pictures still intact so I scanned a few to give you an idea of what I have. You are free to use whatever you want to and if they dont fit what you are looking for that is fine too. I have an old picture of Stanley Kosiba in an old car-taken in the 30s and also another picture of a lady that I dont know..she is sitting on steps with a dark dress and black boots/shoes and my Mom had written underneath-Mrs. Chole 1936....let me know if you want these also here are some corrections/additions to our family information:"
