  • Notes
    • Mr. Robert Christy died at 79. A veteran of the War of 1812. He isburied at West Sunbury. Martha survived him.

In listing the children , the 1909 History of Butler Co. gives 4. But inthe cemetery, there are is a fifth, by the headstones, which the historydoes not mention. (Sara J.) The listing is not necessarily in order.
      (4A40) Sara J. Died July 28, 18?? Age 17yr., 22 days
      (4A41) Dixon Died Jan 6, 1865
      (4A42) Margaret Died Jun 9, 1865 or 1869 Age 13yrs., 4 month, 2 dys.
      (inscription illegible asto date)
      (4A43) Ann(a) Died Apr. 25, 1865 Age 17yrs., 4 mo., 23 dys.
      (4A44) William

Regarding William (4A44), Mrs. Belle Glenn of West Sunbury recalled thathe sold the family farm to a cousin, and "sold his mother along with thefarm." The mother, Martha, remained on the farm with the new owner. Shevery likely is buried in the family lot with her husband and children, although there is no marker for her. As per Series 4.

It is evident from the inscription on one of the headstones that the sonDickson (Dixon) is buried elsewhere. According to the Butler CountyHistory, he was mustered into the Army on December 7, 1861, and died atAnnapolis, Md on January 6, 1865. A soldier of the Civil War. As perSeries 4.
