    • THE BROWN GENEALOGY, Vol. II, by Cyrus Henry Brown, pages 268.
It is not exactly known when Eleazer Brown removed to the State ofNew York, but in New York land papers of recordes of petitions for andgrants of land are found many familier names around Brookfield, Edmestonand Columbus. Eleaxer Brown had a certificate of purchase of 250 acresDec. 1, 1790, for lot 84, township 19. Also Simeon Brown, Jr., lot 81,250 acres. He settled at Brookfield. Jabish Brown had a certificate ofpurchase in 1791, in Chenango Township, of 500 acres. These three earlysettlers were nexr relatives, going from their hometown, Stonington, atdifferent times.* Thus it would appear that Eleaxer Brown settled atBrookfield.
*Om "Otsego County HIstory of New York" is found the following records:"In 1795 Eleazer Brown settled in Brookfield, NY. The family consisted ofwife and seven children."
