Notes	BRIAN PENDLETON AND HIS DESCENDANTS, 1599-1910, Compiled by Everett HallPendleton, Privatley Printed MCMX, found in the DAR Library, Washington,DC. Page 1-77. He was mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Major Brian Pendleton, in 1677, but in 1698 his half-brother, Joseph Pendleton, sold to Nicholas Morey, land on the Grand Island at Portsmouth, NH, "one acre of which was given to my brother, James Pendleton." (Rock, Co., NH,Deeds, ix, 321.) It would appear from this that James-3 died unmarried prior to 1698. !History of the Town of Stonington by Wheeler: Probably died without children. !Early New England Pendletons: Mentioned in grandfather's will in 1677, no reference appears in his father's will. Probably died unmarried and without children.
