  BRIAN PENDLETON AND HIS DESCENDANTS, 1599-1910, Compiled by Everett HallPendleton, Privatley Printed MCMX, found in the DAR Library, Washington,DC. Page 74. 34. Read-4 Pendleton (Caleb-3), born probably at Westerly, RI,married at Westerly, 31 Oct 1728, John Saunders, probably son of John andSilva, or Silena, Saunders, born at Westerly, 13 Oct 1705, and died therein 1777. On the 6th of March, 1747, John Saunders, Jr. gave to Benoni Smithrecipt for his wife's legacy in her father's will (Westerly C. & P. Rec.,iii, 331). His own will, dated 10 Jan 1777, recorded 25 Feb 1777, at Westerly,RI (C&P Rec., iv, 344), names wife, Read, Sarah Lanphere, sons David,Benjaman, Wait and Joshua, daughter, Mary Stillmanh in his will dated1777.
