    • THE BROWN GENEALOGY, Vol. I, Boston, The Everett Press Company 1907, byCyrus Henry Brown, page 145.
      The first nine years of their marriage life they lived in Stonington, Conn. He served three years in the Civil War; enlisted Sept.6, 1862, in Co. G., 114th NY Regt. of Vol., and was sworn into service at Norwich, NY. Drilled and was in service near Baltimore; he was in the hospital fifteen months, after that joined his regiment at New Orleans,and was in the battle of Sabine Cross Roads, La.; in the battles of Winchester, Pleasant Hill, Opequan, and in the Shenandoah Valley,Virginia. He was discharged from the US service at Washington, June 8,1865; draws a pension of $30. per month, farmer.
