      To: Burrel Slocum, Simeon P. Slocum, and Jesse B. Slocum to ElijaPerry dated Aug. 3, 1844, Vol. 5, page 287. Bounded on the north by ElijaKinyon's, on the east by Azariah Main and Charles P. White and on thesouth by Charles P. White and Reuben S. and Bila W. P. Bennett, and onthe west by the highway leading from Pawcatuck Bridge to Voluntown,containing by estimation 40 acres, more or less, meaning and intending toconvey all the land and buildings that was set to the three of us in thedistribution of the Estate of our father, William Slocum.

      NOTE: This in 1968 is the Martin Browne property at Laurel Glen. Duringthe ownership of the 3 brothers above, boundary on the north continued tothe Perry Kinyon, later Kenyon; EAST was the Bentley lot and land ofCharles P. White -- while later it was EAST by Azariah Maine and CharlesP. White; on the SOUTH it was White and R. A. Bennett & Son, while laterit was White and Reuben S. and Bila W. P. Bennett, probably the samepersons. The WEST continued to be the highway, later described as thehighway leading from Pawcatuck Bridge to Voluntown.

      The lot of Burrel, Simeon P. and Jesse B. Slocum, they have agreedto hold in common with each other and is bounded on the north by lands ofPerry Kinyon, on the east by the Bentley lot and land of Charles P.White, on the south by lands of said White and R. A. Bennett & Son., onthe west by the highway, with a dwelling house thereon standing.

Slocum dated Sept. 4, 1845, Vol. 6,page 230 -- beginning at the northwest corner of the premises at theriver, thence easterly with lands of Christopher Brown heirs, Jabish B.Main, and lands of the heirs of Goerge and Jeremiah Thurston, east bylands of Isaac York and Uriah Main, south on lands belonging to the heirsof Jesse York, deceased, and lands of Jabish York until it comes to theriver, thence with Jabish York until it comes to the river, thence withsaid river northerly until it comes to the first mentioned bound, about125 acres.

      1. with a dwelling house and other buildings containing 169.5 acres,beginning at highway by Zebulon York's land, thence nortgh by the highwayuntil it comes to the heirs of Christopher Brown, thence easterly by saidheirs land, thence southerly by said heirs land until it comes to IsaacYork's land, thence easterly by said Isaac York's land, thence southerlyby said York's land, thence easterly by Dish Brown until it comes to theheirs of Abel Collins, thence north and easterly by the heris of ElijahKenyon until it strikes the highway, thence northerly by the highwayuntil it comes to the brook, thence northerly by said brook until itstrikes Zebulon York's sland, thence northerly by said York;s land untilit strikes the highway by heap of stones, thence west by the Bennett lot,southerly by Zebulon York, thence westerly by Zebulon York until itstrikes the first mentioned bound.
      2. Containing 16 acres and 11/100 acres, and bound on the east bythe heirs of Abel Collins on the south by Azariah Main, on the west bySimeon P. Slocum and on the north by Isaac York and Dish Brown containingin the whole 185 11/100 acres.

Slocum to William Main dated Mar. 24, 1849, Vol. 6, page602 -- undivided one half interest, bounded on the east by land of theheirs of Abel Collins, on the south by Azariah Main's land, on the westby Simeon P. Slocum's land, on the north by Isaac York and Dish Brown, orhowever, 16 and 11/100 acres.

      Simeon P. Slocum of North Stonington for $10 sells to Freelove Maineof North Stonington one certain lot of land situated in North Stonington-- beginning at a stake and heap of stones in the northwest corner ofsaid lot thence running easterly by land of Christopher Brown heirs to awhite oak tree which is near the northeast corner of said lot andstanding on said Slocum's land; thence running southerly by lands of saidSlocum to a maple tree which is near the southeast corner on saidSlocum's land; thence running westerly by said slocum's land to a stakeand heap of stones which is the southwest corner of said lot, thencerunning northerly by land of Jabish S. Maine to the first mentionedbound, containing by estimation one acre. Said Freelove Main is to makeand maintain all the line fence between the said Slocum's land and thesaid lot at her own expense.

Main and Freelove Main, the heirs of ChristopherBrown and Isaac York, easterly by lands of said Isaac York, William Maineand Amos Main until it comes to a large rock with a heap of stones on itwhich is the Southeast corner of the lot convayed. Thence runningwesterly to a mearstone and a heap of stones which is the Northeastcorner of Jabesh B. York's lot. Thence southerly by Jabez B. York;s landuntil it comes to the aforesaid River. Slocumdated Dec. 14, 1852, Vol. 7, page 254, do sell the following tract ofland -- Beginning at the northeast corner of lands owned by LodwickBurdick, thence running westerly by said Burdick and said Slocum landuntil it comes to a ditch in the cranberry bod, so-called, which ditch isPeleg Clark's east line, thence northerly by said ditch and line fence tothe highway, thence by said highway to land owned by Elijah Perry, thencerunning easterly by said Perry's land Horace White lands to an ash treethat is marked standing in the wall, thence southerly to a stake and heapof stones by land owned by said Kenyon, thence running easterly by saidKinyon's land to another stake and stones, thence running northerly bysaid Kinyon's land to the butment of the garden wall and with said wallto the southeast corner of said garden, and in the same direction of thelast named wall until it comes to the south line of a lot of land saidKinyon bought of Charles P. Slocum to Peleg Clarke, for $400. dated Jan. 25, 1853,Vol. 7, page 282, 22 and 56/100 acres. -- Beginning at the southeastcorner of Clark's barn meadow by the highway, thence by said highway N 88E 11 chains, thence N 25 E 21 chains & 56 links by said Slocum's land tothe south line of the Bennett farm, so-called, now owned by said Slocum,thence by said farm S 88 W 11 chains to the said Clark's land in theswamp, thence S 25 E 21 chains & 33 links by said Clark's land to thefirst mentioned bound.

Northerly by said Slocum 1 chain 65 links to the pear tree firstmentioned. Contining 1/2 acre with dwelling house and out buildingsthereon standing.
      Also one other lot beginning at a mearstone in the northwest cornerof said Burdick's farm southerly by said Burdick's land to the highway,northerly by the highway to Peleg Clark, Westerly by said Clark land tothe mearstone first mentioned, containing 12 acres.

Lewis, 50 acers,bounded east, north and west by land of Clark Hill and William R. Hill,and on the south by the highway it being a tract of land which we own astenants in common with each other and with our sister Almira Lewis, wifeof Thomas W. Lewis, the same lot that came to us by our honored father,now dec., it being subject ot the life estate of our mother Lydia Slocum,which she herein conveys. This was dated Aug. 26, 1867, and was recordedin Vol. 8, page 332.
