ANNA BRAINARD, MODELED FOR STORE, JUDGED FLOWERS
Edition: FINAL / ALL
During the 1930s through the 1950s, when Anna Marie Brainard was not caring for her family, she modeled clothes for the former William Taylor & Son Co. in Cleveland.
Later, during the late 1960s and 1970s, she and her husband, the late Benjamin, used to grow prize-winning mums. Mums associations recognized their flowers at the national, state and local levels. The couple later judged mums at competitions.
Mrs. Brainard, 94, died Sunday at Southwest General Medical Center in Middleburg Heights.
She was a resident of Parma Heights and had formerly lived in Brook Park.
Mrs. Brainard is survived by sons, James A. Gibbs of Mentor and John H. of Parker, Colo.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Busch Family Chapel, 4334 Pearl Rd., Cleveland.
