He resided with his parents at Cuyler until 1878, when he removedwith them to De Ruyler, NY; was educated in common schools, De RuyterHigh School, and Cortland Normal School, wa principal of Georgetown UnionSchool, 1878; Leonardsville Union School, 1879--1992; No. BrookfieldUnion School 1883-1884. In 1884 purchased a half-interest in theBrookfield'Courier'; in 1886 purchased the oriskany Falls 'News'; in 1901added the manufacture of paper boxes to his publishing business; has beenclerk of the village tow years and president for one year. He is anindependent Republican.
