      He was a wagon-maker and lived in No. Brookfield. He was aRepublican from the organization of that party, and he and his wife weremembers of the Baptist Church. They lived all their life in the town ofBrookfield, except three years when he resided in Morrisville, NY. He wasaJustice of the Peace for years' was president of the Board of Educationof No. Brookfield Union School for three years or more; was apublic-spirited citizen and very successful in business. He retired frombusiness with what was then considered a competency.
