FOUND_AT: After emigrating in 1881, my Bogdan ancestors settled in Fells Point...an area in south east Baltimore City, Maryland.
History: The oldest record of my Bogdan line starts with the marriage of my 2nd great grandfather, Bartlomiej Bogdan, to his first wife, Marianna Czaja, in 1789 in the village of Bialy Bor, Poland. All records after that are found a mile or so away in the village of Dobrynin. In this village parish is found all the records on this Bogdan line until they emigrated to the United States.
Bartlomiej's wife Marianna died in 1814. In 1815 he married a second time to Rozalia Kusmider. The last child born to this marriage was my great grandfather, Walenty. Both Bartlomiej and Rozalia died while Walenty was relatively young.
Walenty was married three times. His first two wives died after giving him a few children. His third wife (Ludwika) is the one with whom he and his children emmigrated to the United States. In 1881 they sailed on the SS Indiana into the port of Philadelphia, PA and then traveled to Baltimore, MD. Ludwika gave birth to a son while on route to the U.S. SS Indiana

FOUND_AT: St. Stanislaus Kostka Michael Bogdan (my grandfather) was born to Walenty and Ludwika while in Poland, and he immigrated to the US with them in 1881. He married Agnieszka in 1905. They lived near, and attended Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church in Fells Point. They gave birth to five children before Michaels death in 1915. Click on photos to see larger image Michael Bogdan
