    • Family moved to Manhattan, Kan, from Herington, Kan., when Elsa wasfive. She graduated from high school there and from Kansas StateCollege. Taught a year in a one-room Kansas school house. Moved toWichita, Kan., after marriage.
      After divorce obtained a master's degree from Kansas State and later adoctorate from the State University of Iowa. Taught at Utah StateAgricultural College from 1931 to 1941, when she joined the University ofWisconsin Extension Service. Later taught at Oklahoma State in Stillwaterand was dean of the school of home economics at Central State Universityin Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Returned to teaching at Utah State to be near herson. Moved to Roy, Utah, after retirement. She was a member of thePresbyterian Church.
