    • Death certificate (in Brown file in filing cabinet) says she died of
      broncheopneumonia after a 5-day illness. A contributory cause wasbronchial
      asthma from which she had suffered for 10 years.
      Died at home, 1524 Humboldt St., Manhattan.
      Member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Herington and later in
      Manhattan.
      A few years after her birth, the family moved to Marshall County,Kansas,
      where she spent her early life. See material from Edna Brown Foster,daughter
      of William W. Brown, in the Brown file.
      Obit from Manhattan Mercury and the Manhattan Daily Nationalist,Friday,
      Jan. 18, 1935:
      "Mrs. Nancy Ann Brown, 76, 1524 Humboldt, died at her home at 1o'clock this
      afternoon, avictim of pneumonia, after being ill five days. She had livedin
      Manhattan since 1904.
      "Mrs. Brown was a member of unit J of the Methodist church, of the
      Missionary society of that church, and of the W.C.T.U."
