  Mary was the mother of Edna Brown Foster, who says little is knownabout theDorman family. Mary, nicknamed Mate, was the eldest. A sister, Alice,later
 lived in El Paso, Texas, and a brother, George, in Newaygo, Mich.
 
 The Dorman family probably lived in New York, since that is where Willwas
 from--unless he met Mary elsewhere during his Civil War service in theUnion
 Navy.
