      served as a private in the 4th regiment Col Elihu Chauncey Commanding ,
      Dimocks Company, Capt Samuelt Dimock commanding, Cristopher Helms 1st Lt,
      Benjamin King 2nd Lt in the French and Indian War. This company was
      raised by Connecticut but was in the pay of New York.

      perhaps after the spring of 1767, when one of that name, called of East
      Haddam, was co-defendant lawsuit instituted by Thomas Tyler, of Boston,
      Massachusetts, in which the defendants won the verdict and costs.
