He was in the 12th US Infantry during the war of the Rebellion, was promoted to a captaincy and brevetted major in the regular army for gallantry in the battles of Wilderness; was on the staff of Brig-Gen B.S. Roberts and Maj- Gen M.R. Patrick; resides in Albany New York.
