      Obituary of Duane E Palmer in the Elyria Chronicle Telegram 6-22-1987

      Duane E Palmer, 85, a lifetime resident of Avon, died early Sunday morning at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain, after a short illness.

      A retired pipefitter, he worked at The Illuminating Co and also ran his own farm.

      Survivng are three sons, Bud, George, and Ronald; two daughteers, Shirley Crokks and Elnora Lawrence; 19 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (nee Bratton), in 1971; a son, Russell, who died in 1977.

      Services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at the Burmeister County Line Funeral Home, Avon, with Rev Bruce Irwin, of Avon United Methodist Church, officiating.

      Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 pm today and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday.

      Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Avon
