  PINE ISLAND RECORD Pine Island, Minnesota Thursday, May 30, 1935 RESIDENT DIES Julia Dixon, daughter of James and Elizabeth Dixon, was born March 8th, 1857 at Rising Sun, Indiana, and passed away at her home in New Haven on May 24, 1935, at the ripe old age of 78 years, 2 months and 16 days. Deceased came to Minnesota with her parents in 1868 when she was 11 years old. She was married to Robert Chapman who passed away many years ago, a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Bush also preceded her in death, passing away in 1929. She was united in marriage to Knute Nelsen in 1903 and had lived in this vicinity for many years. She is survived by her sorrowing husband, Knute Nelsen, one daughter, Mrs. Elma Darling of Portland, Oregon; one son, Clarence Chapman of Bemidji; John, address unknowm, Clara of Washington; one brother Charles Dixon of Oronoco; one sister, Mrs. Laura Chapman of Kirkland, Washington; 3 grandchildren and many other relatives. She will be greatly missed as she was loved and liked by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Olsen Mahler Undertaking Parlors. Rev. Leon Kern of the Methodist Church officiated. Internment was made in the Pine Island Cemetery. ( John and Clara were her step-children. )
