  Obituary from The Elkhart Truth, 7/1/1983, pg 14: Mrs. Phyllis M Barhydt, 63, of 57971 C.R. 13 S., died about 3am today at South Bend Memorial Hospital. She had been ill since December. She was born 9/5/1919, and married Raymond E Barhydt Dec 22, 1936. He died Aug 21, 1982. Surviving are a son, Raymond H., Elkhart; two daughters, Mrs Thomas (Barbara Ann) Kindig and Mrs Donald (Phyllis) McHugh, both of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Fish, Chicago. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Monday at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be at 10am Tuesday. The Rev. Clare Schumm, pater of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. She attended the Sunnyside Mennonite Church.
