• Notes	Mary's mother, Comfort Hart, was born 4 APR 1710, daughter of Richard, Jr., and Amey (Gibbs) Hart. William Gifford, the great-grandfather of Mary was a member of the Society of Friends. It is supposed that he was the William who in about 1647 was ordered by the court of Stanford to be whipped and banished.
