  • Notes
    • Philip was one of 19 children. His father John married (1) Tiverton, (intention) 13 JAN 1726/7, Mary Sisson of Dartmouth; married (2) Tiverton, 8 MAY 1731, Abigail Lake.
The ancestry of his father, John Taber can be traced to the Philip and Lydia (Masters) Taber who were living in Plymouth in 1630.
His mother, Abigail Lake is probably the daughter of Thomas and Lydia (Fisher) Lake, Jr. and the great-grand-daughter of Alice (____) Lake who was arrested and executed for witchcraft.
Philip was a shoemaker. They lived Little Compton and in 1816, Cazenovia, NY. Philip and Mary are both buried Lyons Cemetery, Nelson, Madison Co., NY. A note in Syracuse Library states that he had 7 sons.
