Notes |
- !NOTES: Rev. Meacham was one of the founders of the Shaker religion.
H.C. 1710, the first minister of Coventry 1713.
He was educated at Harvard College where he received the degree of A.M.
in 1710. He became a minister of the gospel at the First Church of
Coventry, Windham, CT, in 1713; ordained 18 October 1714; and where
he remained in charge until 1752.
Some sources list his birth as Connecticut--boundary changes: Enfield
became part of Connecticut in 1750.
