    • CLEVELAND PRESS. "Oldest Polish pioneer tells of fleeing to U. S. to evade war." Cl. Press, Feb. 27, 1934. Matthew Dluzynski, a brief biography.

      Matthew purchased sublot 37 on Bliss St. (A.A. Jewett subdivision). His parents, Simon & Dorothea Dluzynski, purchased sublot 38 on Bliss St.. Both purchases were made on Jun 18, 1881. Simon sold his property on Bliss in 1886. So did Matthew. No further deeds were found for Simon and his wife. Did they move to another county or state? Did they die around that time?

      Had 10 children -- 8 lived (per 1910 census)

      Notes: Polish Resident, 86, Came to Cleveland 64 Years Ago. Funeral services for Matthew Dluzynski, 86, recently selected as one of the city's two oldest living Polish pioneers, will be held this morning at 10 at St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church, E. 65th Street and Forman Avenue S. E. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Dluzynski died Saturday at his home, 3724 E. 65th Street. He came to Cleveland 64 years ago. A wagon maker, he worked on the construction of the old Superior Avenue viaduct in 1870. Later he opened a grocery or?vhat is now Warsaw Avenue S. He is survived by two sons, Aloysius and Alphonse; six daughters, Mary, Agnes, Mrs. Monica Pawlowski, Mrs. Helen Cwiklinski, Mrs. Hattie Verbsky and Mrs. Nettie Planicka; two brothers, Theodore and John; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Kowalski and Sister Juliana, a sister of St. Joseph.
