MAINE TRUCK DRIVER KILLED IN CRSH INTO I-395 GUARDRALLS
THOMPSON - A Maine man was killed late Saturday night when the truckhe was driving ran off Interstate 395 and hit the highway guardrails.
Clifton Campo, Jr., 49, of 1260 Lamson Road, Liberty, was notbreathing when rescue personnel reached the scene. He was administeredcardiopulmonary resuscitation by emergency medical technicians, but waspronounced dead on arrival at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.
Police said his flatbed truck was headed south on I-395 near theExit 98 entrance ramp shortly after 11:30 p.m. when the truck went offthe right shoulder of the highway and hit 72 feet of guardrails before itcame to rest.
Police said the cause of death has not been determined.
Trooper Scott Prouty of the Danielson barracks is investigating theaccident.
