- BENJAMIN JANKOVICH
Stonington -- Funeral arrangements have been completed for BenjaminFranklin Jankovich, Jr., 52, of 457 North Stonington Road, who diedThursday at Hartford Hospital from complications following open heartsurgery.
The funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday at Old Mystic BaptistChurch, Shewville Road. Burial will be in Lambtown Cemetery, Ledyard.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Old Mystic Baptist ChurchMemorial Fund, 151 Shewville Road, Old Mystic 06372.
He was born Oct. 28, 1939, in New London, son of Benjamin F.Jankovich, Sr., and Genevieve Watrous Jankovich.
He received his early education in local schools and was a 1958graduate of Stonington High School. He served in the Marine Corps in thelate 1950s.
He married Nancy Hildebrand on Feb. 27, 1968, at Old Mystic BaptistChurch.
Before his retirement in 1989 due to poor health, Mr. Jankovich wasemployed by the Pipefitter's Union, Local 676, as a sprinklerfitter.
He was a member of Old Mystic Baptist Church. He was also an avidgolfer, and competed in church's Friday Night League at Elmridge GoldClub.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three broghers, StephenJankovich of Fairfield, Maine, George Jankovich of Groton and ArthurJankovich of Baxley, Ga.; and four sisters, Sandra Spencer, GenevieveHall and Roberta Jankovich, all of Groton, and Bertha Holdridge ofLisbon.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Jankovich, and a sister,Beverly Philps.
